About Fairview Palliative Care Services
As part of the Fairview Medical Group, the Fairview Palliative Care Services provide care to patients at Fairview hospitals located through Minneapolis/St. Paul and surrounding areas. The Fairview Medical Group is a physician-led, integrated, multi-specialty practice that is comprised of more than 500 providers in 48 practice locations. Palliative care teams are formed at our hospitals and usually provide dedicated services to a single location. The locations range from tertiary care hospitals like the University of Minnesota Medical Center to community hospitals like Fairview Southdale Hospital. The palliative care teams focus on physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients with serious illness. The goal is to reduce suffering, preserve dignity and improve quality of life for patients. The Palliative Care Program is designated as a Palliative Care Leadership Center by the Center to Advance Palliative Care and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. In addition, our Palliative Care Program has received the prestigious Circle of Life Award which recognizes innovative programs across the nation that make great strides in palliative care. These accolades reflect its commitment to work with every patient's physician and medical team to improve the quality of the life of each patient.
